No one will tell us …

"The choreographic practice of  d a n s e  is not about memorising movements, but rather, about imprinting the body-mind of the dancer with ways of sourcing movement from any part of the body, at any speed or level, with any force or duration, in any direction,…at any time. It is about the body dancing. Increasingly, my interest is how this practice effects the perception of the dancer. Gradually, as the dancer's body awareness becomes myelinated with ways of finding movement in any part of the body at any time, her perception of herself dancing starts to slip around, generating a fluid interactivity between the body and the imaginary.

In No-one will tell us... I have open the project up to a meeting with other performance forms in the context of an immediate interaction with three long-term collaborators equally engaged in their own particular artistic inquiries: rock musician, Hansueli Tischhauser, improvisational performer, Andrew Morrish, and lighting designer Marco Wehrspann. What happens when these practices meet? What stays the same? What changes? Is something new created? How do we co-exist?

No-one will tell us... strips it back to what each of us can deliver. It is a call to live by our wits, wide awake... no-one would tell us if it was the end of the world.

Itis the beast that could disarm the  d a n s e  project, going beyond the pure dimensions of  d a n s e  to play it wide, leaving the back door open..."                                                                                                                      Rosalind Crisp
